National Institute of Developmental Psychiatry for Children and Adolescents
INPD is a research institute established in 2009 by Brazil’s National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), aiming to network with the most renowned research groups in the field of child and adolescent mental health in Brazil. We bring together the efforts of the State University of São Paulo (USP), the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp), the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), along with ten other national and international higher education institutions.
CISM
Center for Research and Innovation in Mental Health
In an effort to uphold the legacy of INPD, CISM was created with the purpose of advancing and disseminating knowledge about mental health in the state of São Paulo for the next 10 years. We will continue to investigate the genetic and environmental factors that trigger mental disorders in children and adolescents. In addition, we are implementing new, more effective interventions in clinical practice, through technology transfer to society and fostering social entrepreneurship by developing innovative digital solutions.
How do we work?
INPD and CISM’s work is grounded in developmental translational neuroscience, seeking to promote scientific research and knowledge transfer in children and adolescent mental health to Brazilian society. While INPD emphasizes the importance of early interventions, CISM is dedicated to finding innovative digital solutions in social entrepreneurship and transferring mental health technology to society through an implementation science framework.
Como trabalhamos?
O INPD e o CISM trabalham com base na neurociência translacional do desenvolvimento, buscando promover a pesquisa científica e a transferência de conhecimento em saúde mental infantojuvenil para a sociedade brasileira. Enquanto o INPD enfatiza a importância das intervenções precoces, o CISM se dedica a encontrar soluções digitais inovadoras de empreendedorismo social e a transferência de tecnologia em saúde mental para a sociedade por meio de uma estrutura de ciência de implementação.
